Day on the Beach this year was filled with hundreds of eager participants ready to embark on a FULL day of adaptive ocean activities at Cowell Beach. Every sport had no empty spots – registration was at capacity – outrigger canoe excursions, beach wheelchair rides, kayaking through the beautiful ocean, SCUBA diving, and a favorite with many – floating. Don’t forget our face painting, character drawings, magic tricks and more! 30 years ago our very first Day on the Beach offered one activity – surfing – a lot different than what today looks like, but there’s one thing that hasn’t changed – the zealous and generous love for our community of people with different abilities.
Brimming over with fabulous volunteers – we had over 250 caring, hard working, and passionate people that helped staff our annual Day on the Beach. Coming together as a community of those eager and energetic about making a difference was seen from the friendly smiles at registration tables, the delicious free food served to all, the diligent carpenters and crew who construct piles of wood into rows and rows of walkways, the incredible bands singing from their soul, the behind the scenes folks, focused photographers, and all the many helping hands that poured into our participants memorable day and for some, highlight of their summer.
Thank you to all who came out! Keep adventuring!
